WBLQ Programs
In addition to the programming below, WBLQ features local news, sports and weather every hour, and every half hour during morning drive. During the rest of the day, WBLQ features soft rock music from the 50s to today with news and public service announcements mixed in.
WBLQ covers all local chambers of commerce including Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce, Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, and Charlestown Chamber of Commerce, as well as Misquamicut Business Association, the Westerly-Pawcatuck Downtown Business Association, and municipal events of interest with live remote broadcasts.
WBLQ also covers local high school sports for Westerly, Rhode Island; Stonington, CT; and Chariho (Charlestown, Richmond, and Hopkinton, Rhode Island). The station is also an affiliate of the Pawtucket Red Sox carrying their Thursday and Friday night games.

The Morning Show with Frank Prosnitz
Every weekday morning we offer our listeners a variety of informative and entertaining discussions on current events both local and national with frequent guests and listener interaction.
Lunch with Boots
Johnny hosts “Lunch with Boots” Monday-Friday 12-1PM. If you love 80s music as well as nostalgia from that era, this is the show for you. Johnny couples this with local information about what is going on in the community. Johnny also fills in on “The Morning Show” as well as play by play when Ken and his team are on assignment.
Saturday Morning Sports Report with Sal, Fed, Andrew and The Doc
Heard every Saturday morning from 8 a.m to 9 a.m. This show is hosted by Westerly Athletic Hall of Famer Sal Murano, with co-hosts Gary Federico “Fed”, Andrew Fiore and Doctor Daniel Gaccione (The Doc). This program spotlights local high school sports from basketball to football, with everything in between, such as track, cross country, and lacrosse. When discussing pro sports, this show takes more of a New York approach.
Sports Open Mic
Heard every Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. This show is hosted by award-winning WBLQ Sports Director Ken Collins, along with “Sweet Lou” Pappadia, Bill Slammer” Sammagio, Eric Collins, and Jerry Longolucco. Not only has this show been in existence since the 70s, it also spotlights local sports first. When discussing pro sports, this show takes more of a New England approach.
The Time Machine
Heard every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. this show is a re-creation of a show with the same name originally heard on the now-defunct 66 WNBC in New York. The Time Machine features live and local on-air personalities “Crazy” Chris DiPaola from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., “Sir Thomas of the Turntable” Tommy Stafford from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and DJ Gadget from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The program is broadcast in reverb featuring classic Pams jingles and accents classic hits of the 1960s and 1970s, with rock and roll Top 40 hits of the 50s and 80s splashed in!
Mann About Town
Join Rona Mann, locally known personality, Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for Mann About Town – a radio show on WBLQ covering the schools, the arts, the beaches, the restaurants and everything that’s happening in our towns.
Living Faith for Today with Reverend Joshua McClure
Award-winning author and former Pastor of Pleasant Street Baptist Church, Joshua McClure shares Bible scriptures and Christian doctrine every Sunday morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. McClure was also most recently featured in “Living Legends of Westerly” a film commemorating Westerly’s 350th anniversary.
That’s Amore with Johnny Nardo
Johnny “Nardo” Nardorillo hosts two hours of Italian music, comedy, and other related adult standards every Sunday 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. From comedy with Pat Cooper to the music of Dean Martin and Lou Monte, this show is loved by many!
Sunday Jazz Brunch
A “hip” collection of classic big band and swing to modern jazz heard every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. portion is hosted by Steve Conti and is sponsored by Seaside Pharmacy, owned and operated by Bill Quirk. The 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. portion is hosted by well-renowned broadcaster Steve Bianchi. From the First Lady of Song Ella Fitzgerald to Sinatra, Basie, and Harry Connick Jr, you’ll love the Sunday swinging sounds! Originally hosted by the late Tony “J” Jordan, it is the perfect accompaniment for Sunday leisure pursuits.
Dave Newfell Foundcuts
Dave spotlights the 80s and a hair of the early 90s with forgotten favorites. Everyone who hears Foundcuts, says, “Wow, I haven’t heard that song in ages.” These are deep but familiar cuts, that will take you back to your youth!
Nothing But Old 45s
Another great show for the baby boomer! Spotlighting classic hits with themes! Hosted by Larry Kratka, a regionally syndicated show.
WBLQ Overnight Time Machine with Steve West & Bob Gilmore
(except nights with sports or council meetings then The Time Machine starts directly following) for the classic hits of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s overnights from 6 PM to 6 AM with hosts Steve West and Bob Gilmore. Bob Gilmore has with a long history of being on the air, and has known airchecks dating back into the 60s. Scottish American, born and raised in Southern Connecticut.
